Took my car in to get a quote to replace a engine coolant temperature sensor and they ended up replacing it without a quote and charging $531. They tried to tell us they couldn't quote it without replacing it, and then tried to charge $427 instead. When we questioned it further he said it was weird we didn't get a quote and he could charge us $299 instead for the part and labor. He then proceeded to tell us the part was way more expensive than what was posted on the Napa website because he "doesn't cheap out on parts". We told him we would pay for the quote we originally asked for, they could take the part out, and we'll go somewhere else. They gave us the keys and said have a nice day. Definitely felt like we were being taken advantage of because we're two young women because what they were trying to do violates the Auto Repair Act and is illegal.
