Bellingham auto repair

These guys did my brakes and a vacuum leak repair. I highly recommend this shop to anyone looking to get anything done on their vehicle. They are clearly very highly qualified, thorough and professional. Mostly though I appreciated their transparency, honesty, and communication when it came to my repair... they always were proactive with calling, telling me what was up, what the costs would be... they were also very generous about billing and rounded down when it came to time and services! I'll be trusting these guys with my Tacoma in the future. Important background: I had taken my truck to another shop in Bellingham who was subpar for reasons I won't get into other than that they said my vacuum leak was inside my booster and that it would cost ~$500 to repair. I took it to Flat Black for a second opinion. They were knowledgeable enough to know very quickly that Toyotas need a gasket between the booster and master cylinder--something the other shop had forgotten to put in when they replaced my master cylinder. They ended up putting in the $2 gasket instead of replacing the $500 booster and now my truck runs great! Also, stellar job on the brakes. Just a little anecdote about what finding a professional and honest shop can save you in the long run.

Very honest and straight forward. Not trying to hard sell any maintenance that wasn't needed ASAP. Just a generic "here is what we found" attitude and if something was needed to be done i could have said yes or no. Thankfully nothing crazy was found. Very happy with flat black!

I started going to Flat Black when they were on Smith Rd. They have always been knowledgeable, and reasonable priced. I've never had a problem with any work they have done. When someone asks about where to take their vehicle to have work done I always recommend Flat Black. They are good people.
