We were looking for a local independent shop we can trust, and are happy we found Flat Black. They fixed an oil leak in our Nissan Pathfinder, installed an automatic transmission cooler and put in a new serpentine belt at a reasonable cost. They also adjusted the coilovers on our Jetta Sportwagen for a better ride height, again at a decent price. They're friendly, will clearly explain whatever needs doing and why and won't try to gouge you with unnecessary repairs. Their techs are experienced with both domestics and imports.

We travelled into Bellingham on a bad car battery and happened to call Flat Black for help. So lucky we found them! They took our car in immediately, confirmed it was only a faulty battery, tracked a replacement down and installed it. We were on our way in less than a half hour and didn’t have to alter our travel plans. My only regret is that I don’t live in Bellingham to use them again!
